1 > smoke test is nessery whenever we receive a new
build. The name may vary company to company.Only the main
functionalities are tested here.
2 > yes,all test cases, test plan etc all the docs are
stored in the TESTDIRECTOR/QUALITY CENTER tools, BUT IN
MOST OF THE OFFICES THEY USE THEIR VERSION SUCH AS VISUAL
SAFE AND MICROSOFT SHAREPONT OR SOME PLAINLY USE EXCEL
SHEET WITH LINKS TO A REPOSITORY.( AS PER THE QUESTION
ASKED)
3 > we 1st need to reexecute the tc related to the bug to
cheek that the bug has got fixed & the we reexecute all the
tcs related to the component or modules to cheek that
whethet the fix has any adversed impact on the unrelated
area of the application.
4 > whenever a new feature is added to the application,we
do first SMOKE TEST AFTER THAT WE DO FULL REGRESSION
TESTING TRYING TO FIND IF THE SOFTWARE DOES WHAT IT IS
SUPPOSE TO DO IN THE FIRST PLACE.
5 > yah, again itz depends on ur company which SQL client to
