In transmission line the line power loss only accured at
resistance the inductance and capacitance wont consume power
is it correct?
Answer Posted / sandeepraj
the transmission line pocesses only resistance that means it is not like that it dose not have inductance and capacitance, transmission lines have very little percentage of L and C which are due to nature of meterial(transmission line). so the losses occur are obviously due to resistance.
where as during distribution due to inductance of loads some power is stored which reduces power factor and this power factor is bought back by adding capacitor banks.
in india the transmission losses are 5 percentage
