In the above answer there is no reply, how the high voltage
induced in the light since the applied voltage is mere 230
v. But to energize the electrons it is required 1000 v. It
is because of choke. once the starter supplied the applied
voltage to choke it induces flux. But the starter
immediately cut the supply, the flux disturbed and produce
more flux which causes high voltage. As the quality factor
of choke is 5 it multiples the applied voltage for 5 times
and thus produce the required voltage.
