can we run 3 phase induction motor under 2 phase supply

yes we can run induction motor on 2 phase supply there are
three methods
1. first rotate the roter with some externel means and in
running condition of the motor switch on the supply.motor
will start running but in unbalanced and unstable condition.
2. connect a capacitor to one of the phase and give supply
to the motor with two already awailable phases and one with
the capacitor.capacitor will provide required phase
dispacement.motor will be more stable in this connection.
3. use scot connection of transformer to provide 3 phase
supply.

why should the lowest unit of a testing transformer ( cascaded transformer ) have higher power rating??
