Resistance is the opposition offered by the element to the
current passing through it when a voltage is applied across
the element.
According to Ohm's law, resistance of a material is the
ratio of voltage across the element to the current passing
through it i.e. to say irrespective of the magnitude of
voltage applied, the resistance of that element will remain
constant.
Mathematically, R = Voltage/Current
