cell wall of gram positive bacteria-
gram positive bacteria appears
as a thik homogenous layer and mainly consist of
peptidoglycan.The reminder is made up of
proteins,polysaccharides and teichoic are acidic
polysaccharides which lie on the outer surface of
peptidoglycan and are considerd to affect the passage of ion
their by help in maintaining the cell wall at a relatively
low pH.So that autolysis do not degrade the cell wall.They
also act as receptor sides for bacteriophages.
cell wall of gram negative bacteria-
gram negative bacteria are more
complex than these are gram positive bacteria. The unit
difference is the presenceof the outer membrane that
surrounds a thin underline air of peptidoglycan because of
this outer membrane the cell wall gram negative bacteria is
reach in lipids. The outer membrane is attached to underline
peptidoglycan by means of broun's lypoprotein. The outer
membrane is made up of phospholipid bilayer,protein,and
lipopolysaccharides.
