minimum spacing required- (a)Diameter of the bar if the diameter is equal,(b)Diameter of the largest bar if diameter is unequal,(c)5mm more than the size of the aggregate,which ever is greater.

Actually, the overburden pressure acts against the net bearing capacity of the soil and I feel that we are actually increasing the bearing capacity value and doing the check. I feel that this is NOT right. Please clarify on this.
