what is mean by unity power factor?why are u calling
Resistivity load also unity power factor?
Answer Posted / momenkasiu
Unity power factor means that Pf=1 or cos(phi)=1 so (phi)=0 where (phi) is the angle between the apparent power & active power in the power triangle so it means that the apparent power equals the active power and the reactive power in this case equals zero. No reactive power transmitted between the source and load which it exists only in the case of resistive loads.
