If you multiply R (resistance in ohms) by C (capacitance in
microF) you'll get a value equal to the time constant of
the circuit in seconds. Remember that Xc = 1/(2*PI*F*C) and
that F = 1/T, then substituting and leaving out all
constants and applying a dimensional analysis you'll get
R*C = Time in sec. for that particular cct. (theoretical
value).
