In track electrification Either we use single conductor or
double conductor? why?
Answer Posted / amit rajak
in india we actually uses single conductor for track
electrification. aswell the railway track or track which is
itself a conductor acts as the return conductor.
it has the following advantages.
1).easy handling.
2).smooth control where the train track terminates.
2).low cost aS only single conductor is used.
4).low losses as if there is two or more than
two wire system the overall loss
will be high
5). high efficiency.
6).safe as the risk of breaking of conductor is high
