what is the function of breather in a transformer
Answer Posted / abhishek goyal
Breather connected to the conservator unit by pipe
arrangement (oil transformer). when load change or increase
(it produce more heat)and according to atmosphere
temperature oil will be change its position or level into
the tank so conservator (or tank)need air for space to
settable position of oil into the tank(expansion/
suppression). So that air flow come through the breather to
reduce atmosphere moisture for preventing form dielectric
strength (>40KV IE standards) of oil and unwanted fault.
