when a bug is fixed .. its is most possible that any related
module is affected by the changed. To ensure that is does
not happen, regression testing is done.
Mostly automated testing is used for such type of testing
b'coz same set of test cases have to be run over and over again.

You must test a trouble report where the problem cannot be reproduced. You tried using various test data files and mutations from the data files the customer sent along with the trouble report. The software does not fail the way it did at the customer's site.
