RIP has a long convergence time and users have been
complaining of response time when a router goes down and
RIP has to reconverge. Which can you implement to improve
convergence time on the network?
A) Replace RIP with static routes
B) Update RIP to RIPv2
C) Update RIP to OSPF using Link State
D) Replace RIP with BGP as an exterior gateway protocol

the answer is to update Rip to ospf(open shortest path
fast). why because Rip uses slow convergence means it takes
240 seconds to flush update and the update timer of RIP is
30 sec in the up dates it sends entire routing table. and it
has some routing loops. but ospf convergence speed is high.
update timer is 10 sec and to flush the update it takes 40
sec only. more over it is open standard. it uses bandwidth
and delay as the metric. but rip uses only distance as
metric. hop count unlimited in OSPF and in RIP hop count is
limited to 15
