WHY THE FREQUENCY IS 50 HZ IN INDIA.CAN WE USE SOME OTHER
FREQUENCY.IF SO WHAT IS THE RANGE AND WHAT WILL BE THE
EFFECT IN PRESENT POWER SYSTEM IF WE CHANGE THE FREQUENCY
AS YOU SUGGEST ?
Answer Posted / jyotsna singh
in india the electrical devices are constructed for 50 hz and 230 vlot so if the frequency is chanfed we hav to chanfe the rating of the devices accordingly and as the frequency is directly proportional to the number of poles,if we increase the frequency we have to increase the number of poles also so it is not feasible
