if bad debts is given in Adjustments, then first it should be in expenses side of Profit and Loss account. And Please remember, Bad debts is loss, obviously it will be appear in Liability side. In case of return off, then it will deducted in Debtors which is appearing in Asset side of the Balance sheet.
Remember "Bad Debts" is loss
