When will u start regression on testing?
A. whenever build is ready, tester has to execute the
testcases. In execution if he rises any defect, to fix the
defect again build will be send back to dev team. They'll
fix the defect & send it to Testing team. Generally tester
test the new build whether the defect has fixed or not. This
is called retesting. While fixing the defect by dev team,
i.e., due to change of code, any other defect will be
introduced in the remaining code or not also has to test by
the testers for quality testing. testing the impact on other
requirements due to the existing defect is called regression
testing.
finally we can say that whenever during the existing defect
fixing, impact of this fixing may rise any other defect. To
fix all these impacted requirements & defects we will go for
regression.
