i can explain the answer to this question with a simple example.
we can relate this topic with cricket -:
Advantage : if rain abandoned the match & team who played 1st scored 250 runs and the opponent team has scored 90 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in 20 overs than the advantage to win the match according to D/L is with the team who batted 1st.
Benefits : suppose a experienced player is not well & down with fever so the youngsters in the team has a benefit to play in the match.
