what is power factor for any engineering equipment?? what
should be its value?
Answer Posted / arnab
Its the cosine of the angle between the voltage and current.
Form tranmission point of view, P = VI*pf,so for constant
voltage and current, power factor should be as near to unity
as possible to achieve maximum power, in practice from
transmission point of view its kept in between 0.9-0.95, but
again the higher the better [provided it's cost effective]
