commonly known forms of basidiomycetes are mushrooms.Mushrooms are edible,rich in protein.They commonly used as food.Somtimes they are also used in medicinal industry.They are also used in preparing dung cakes for animals One of the most important edible mushroom is Agaricus and Morchella. They are also used on a large commercial scale for single cell protein and genetic work.
