what is the difference between CT and CVT in EHV Sub Stations

CT is used for measuring and control of Currents and CVT is used for Measuring of Voltages in 400kv switch yard.

Could Please Explain briefly. Why used stabilizing resistance series with High impedance bus differential protection relay.
