The iron loss in a 100kva transformer is 1 kw and full load
copper losses are 2 kw, then what is maximum efficiency occure
at a load?
Answer Posted / srihari
The load is not given so let us assume the load is resistive load.
therefore power factor is unity and at maximum efficiency copper losses = iron losses = 1kw.
100*10^3*1
efficiency= ------------------- = 98.03%
100*10^3*1+1000+1000
