STOCK SPLIT: A corporate action in which a company's existing shares are divided into multiple shares.
DIVIDEND: A distribution of a portion of a company's earnings, decided by the board of directors, to a class of its shareholders.
RIGHT ISSUES: A rights issue is an issue of additional shares by a company to raise capital under a seasoned equity offering. The rights issue is a special form of shelf offering or shelf registration. With the issued rights, existing shareholders have the privilege to buy a specified number of new shares from the firm at a specified price within a specified time.
MERGERS AND ACQUISITION: Mergers and acquisitions (abbreviated M&A) refers to the aspect of corporate strategy, corporate finance and management dealing with the buying, selling, dividing and combining of different companies and similar entities that can aid, finance, or help an enterprise grow rapidly in its sector or location of origin or a new field or new location without creating a subsidiary, other child entity or using a joint venture.
SPINN OFFS: a type of corporate transaction forming a new company or entity.The creation of an independent company through the sale or distribution of new shares of an existing business/division of a parent company. A spinoff is a type of divestiture.
