How much current will a 5 HP delta connected motor at no
load will take?Is tat need a starter
Answer Posted / asif.k64@hotmail.com
1HP=746watt
5HP= 3730watt
power = 1.732*v*I*cos@ for three phase motors.
I=3730/1.732*415*.8
I=6.5A
Hence the motor will draw a no load current approximately
about 6.5 A.
There is a need of a starter.
