what is the difference between tcp and udp protocol?nowadays
internet using which type of protocol?
Answer Posted / deepak kumar bhatia
TCP protocol is designed for connection oriented
communication. It provides reliable communication. It is
also called guaranteed delivery method/practice. UDp is
connection less and it does not guarantee that the
communication will be successfull. It is used in
environments where you need less overhead in making sure
that the data gets communicated or where you want the data
to be communicated now or it will be useless. In real time
communication like telephony, if the data is delayed not
communictaed later, it is of no use. TCP is used situations
where the data must be communicated to the other end with
surity of communication. For example uploading a report to
a computer where the entire file must be passed on, if the
delay is encountered in maitaining the communication and
ensuring that the data is passed correctly, it is fine and
acceptable.
