Splicing is the increasing of the steel bar by over-lapping
like 45d in case of compression member and 50d in case of
tension member, where 'd' is the diameter of the steel bar.

For sloping slabs or sloping beams why the tension steel from either side of ridge is taken into compression zone of other side?
In a beam,stirrups are placed closely at ends than at centre due to shear.similarly where would ties be closer to each other-at center or at ends in a column and slab.
