Unit testing is testing individual module fo an
application.it is done by developers.it comes under white
box testing.In black box testing we test the functinality
or behavior of an application.we dont have the internal
knowledge of the application.where as in white box testing
basic path coverage,loops and funtions written in coding

If you are handling a product testing and if there are around 100 test cases and in them few test cases are failed then at the end of the day how will you treat whether the product is pass/fail.? consider the failed test cases are in functional requirements.
