what is the weight of 8mm dia steel with 1 meter length.
Is there any formula to calculate the weight for any given
diameter
Answer Posted / david richmond majaw
Dia of a steel bar = 8mm = 0.008m
Density of the steel = 7850 Kg/cum
Length of the steel bar = 1m
Weight of the steel bar = Cross sectional area of steel x
length x density of steel
= (pi x d x d)/4 x L x 7850
{(22/7)x0.008 x 0.008}/4 x 1 x 7850
= 0.3947 Kg
= say 0.40 Kg.
