We add think time between two transaction to give interval between transactions. Why?

Think time is nothing but trying to give some time for teh
real user to provide with input data..
for eg : lets take gmail home page.
though it has got the same standard page , it takes times
for different people to feed input.
cases like :
new user : will take time to undersatnd and then feed data
regular user : will immediately send in the data
so , think time is nothing but an average of this user
emulating activity timing
