how much kn lightning arrestor is used in 11kv line
Answer Posted / parag
1st of all lightening arrestors are not used to bypass
direct lightning, for direct lightning we use earth wire
running on the top of the power lines,L.A is used to bypass
switching surges,it is a non linear resistor and having
breaking voltage more than power frequency voltage so that
under normal operating condition it provides high resistance
& under abnormal condition it provides low resistance to
bypass SWITCHING SURGES.
