we all know that both the generator and motor are
electromechanical conversion devices.....then why we rate
motor in kw and generator in kva????

Rotation related with active power . The motor rating
decided on shaft load which is in KW . Generator delivers
electrical power in KVA and Two WDg one for voltage control
ie Field wdg
