The philosophy for modbus and profibus is same.....the
difference is
1.modbus you can go up to 1200m only in the case of profibus
you can go up to 2-5 km.
2.In modbus the speed will be 125kbs where profibus it will
be 1.5 mbs to 12mbs.
3.In modbus you can connect maximum 32 devices for RS485
where in Profibus you can go upto 127devies without repeater.
