When batteries are connected in series the voltage increases
but the current remains unchanged, how can this be?
When you consider ohm's law. i.e.
If voltage increases, current increases, providing
resistance remains the same.

IN THIS QUESTION OHM'S LAW CAN NOT BE APPLIED. IT CAN BE
APPLIED ONLY FOR FIXED CIRCUITS.
IN SERIES CONEECTION, BATTERY VOLTAGE GETS ADDITIVE HENCE
VOLTAGE INCREASES BUT CURRENT (BATTERY CAPACITY) REMAINS
UN-ALTERED AS PER THE PROPERTY OF SERIES CIRCUTS-
THAT IN SERIES CIRCUIT, VOLTAGE IS DIFFERENT AT DIFFERENT
NODES BUT CURRENT REMAINS THE SAME.
