hello! can anyone explain to me how a 3 speeds table fan
work? what are the factors that are controlling the speed of
a normal table fan? Is it by varying the voltage or changing
the magnetic field? would appreciate your reply :) thx in
advance.

By varying the voltage .The speed controller connects
resistance in series with the supply and hence the voltage
to the motor is reduced. This type speed control goes well
with the fan as the load on the motor varies with the speed
automatically.
