What are the advantages of star-delta starter with
induction motor?

Answer Posted / jishnu mukherjee

The main advantage is of-course the issue of starting current. In this case the starting line current is reduced to one third. Most importantly, starting torque is also reduced by the same amount. So pumps,motor-generator sets, where starting torque is not required to be high can take the advantage of star-delta starting.
But the problem is, this method is not adoptable for the motors which have high voltage rating(generally above 3kv).The reason behind:such motors are usually star-connected.We must have delta connection in the induction motor.

I'm generating a pulse of 3V with frequency 80Hz (12.5ms time period) and pulse duration 0.125ms and feeding it to a transformer since i want the pulse to get amplified around 60V. At the output amplification s happening but the pulse is changed to a spike, can you tell me what could be the reason? (an ordinary transformer 220V-12V stepdown transformer is reverse connected ie. now it is 12V-220V stepup and voltage amplification happens)
