wat s the difference between diode and capacitor

Capacitor is a passive component but diode is an active
component.
Diode is convert AC to DC but Capacitor is store the energy.
Diode use for rectification but capacitor is used for the
filteration.

Practical condition in 400KV Sub station:- Breaker(open) , isolator(open), Earthing (close) at both end e.g A & B.
