ITS VERY SIMPLE THAT AS WE KNOW E.M.F PRODUCES IN THE WINDINGS WHICH DEPENDS ON CHANGES OF FLUX W.R.T TIME. HERE WHEN D.C SUPPLY IS GIVEN SO NO VARYING FLUX PRODUCES & NO EMF GENERATES. SO TRANSFORMER BASICALLY WORKS ONLY ON AC SUPPLY...
