what is the function of breather in a transformer
Answer Posted / aditya
breather r used in two places... wid the transformer and
with the conservater tank too.... when... oil level..
decreases after a certain time due to.. heating..air... gets
filled in the gaps.... which could contain... moisture..
this moisture... is removed by the...silica gel.. by
soaking.. it... here it.. works as an absorbant...... it is
max. found to be in blue or purple colour... its not of just
a single colour.. it could be of any colour... after
absorbing its colour gets... light... and it can be
recycled... again.. by drying it!!!!!... it plays an
important role.. in avoiding.. any short circuit... in the
transformer.....
do correct my answer... if it has any mistakes....
thankx!!!!!!!
