EXPLAIN PROPOTIONAL INTEGRAL DERIVATIVE CONTROL ACTION?
Answer Posted / ecxlsync
Proportional is to respond the magnitude or error of the
process.
Integral is to respond the number of error occured at a
given time (integral time).
Derivative is to respond the rate of change of the error at
a with respect to time.
PID is a Control algorithm to perform a control action on
the final element usually a control valve to correct the
error of the process value and lead-lag effects.
proportional term will determine the amount of
opening/closing the valve with respect to the error signal.
Integral will eliminates the offset and tries to set back
the process value to the setpoint.
Derivative is to reponds quicky as the error is about to
occur.

I was working on calibrating turbidity transmitters endress+hauser at effluent polishing plant. We calibrated using NTU buffers. What happened is that when we immersed the sensor, everytime we raise and lower the sensor gradually, the reading will vary.my question is that is there any specifications on what is the required distance from the bottom of the container with buffer to the face of the sensor? Is it ok to install the sensor in a medium which has turbulence specially if bubbles are present?
