in delta connection, why motor rotate in high speed
compared to star connection?

The voltage aplied to a moter terminal is the line to line
(LINE VOLTAGE). In star connection the phase voltage is
Vph/root(3) and in case of delta connection in is
Vph=V(line). And the voltage applied to the each winding is
the phase voltage that is greater in case of phase
connection so higher speed.
