In a class of 60 students, the number of boys and girls
participating in the annual sports is in the ratio 3 : 2
respectively. The number of girls not participating in the
sports is 5 more than the number of boys not participating
in the sports. If the number of boys participating in the
sports is 15, then how many girls are there in the class?

let total no .of students participating sports=x
participating ratio =3:2
no of boys participating in the sports= 15
so, (3/5)*x=15
=25
no.of students not participating sports=60-25=35
v have, no.of non attending boys=y
no.of nn attending girls=y+5
so. y+y+5=35
y=15
no.of boys in the class=participating+ non participating
= 15+15=30
no.of girls in the class=total-no.of boys
=60-30
=30
