My friend bought a test management system just recently after
comparing a lot of products. But its performance was not quite
up to the mark. Please suggest a good one that is worth the
money.

We have many test management tools around world. I know some
of the tools which are cheap and best supporting and
interacting in all phases of software life cycle and test
life cycle are as follows:
1. Whizible
2. Bugzilla
3. JTrac
There are many tools in market, but as requested by you, iam
suggesting which is good and cheap.
All the above mentioned tools in defect life cycle, defect
categorization, defect comparison, defect dependency, defect
coverage.. etc.
whizible is the tool which helps to interact with other
phases also. i suggest this more.
All the best and takecare.
