except electro mechanical generators all other readily
available sources of energy is dc.
examples
1. batteries give dc supply based on chemical energy. two types
(a)primary type: non rechargeable i.e zinc carbon
batteries available in AA, AAA, C, D type 1.5 volts cells
(b) secondary rechargeable i.e
lead acid batterie(used in auto mobiles 12v 6v etv)
niickel cadmium cells ( used in camera batteries)
lithium ion batteries ( used in cell phones and
laptops)
