The powerfactor plays an important role in AC Since pwr consumed depends on PF
A PF Less than unity results in
Larger kva rating of equipment.
Larger copper losses
Poor voltage regulation
Reduced handling capacity
KW=KVA Cos phi
Hence we correct power factor
