In a class of 40 students, 24 students speak Hindi and 20
students speak Kannada. Eight students speak none of the two
languages. How many students speak both Hindi and Kannada?

Answer is 12 because
AUB means total students who speak Hindi and Kannada
which are 40-8 = 32
A= 24
B= 20
so we need to find A intersection B mean to say who are
common between them.
As per formula:
AUB = A+B-( A intersection B)
32 = 24+20-( A intersection B)
( A intersection B) = 44-32 => 12 ANS.
