what is the role of reactive powerin transmission and
distribution?
Answer Posted / pushpak mistry
It is component of electrical power cause lower power
factor and drawing more current to give same output of
applications in terms of power.
Due to the higher reactive component in transmission and
distrubution, power loss become more in terms of
transmission line losses.
To reduce the transmit and distribution loss we have to
use higher size of conductor to transmt same power

how does the terminal voltage of transmission lines increase when a capacitor is connected???? This happens not only in transmission lines but also in all circuits. How??? When a capacitor is connected in a transmission line, capacitor also takes energy from the same supply. But how is it able to increase the terminal voltage??? Practically What sequence of events happen during increase in voltage???
