why we use taping of transformer on HT side?

Answer Posted / pasang, avit, chennai

Tappings of the transformer irrespective of either
Distribution or power transformers are on the HT side due
to the following reasons.

1. The HT windings have more No of turns than the LT
windings so that the flexibility of Stepping up and
stepping down is easier with more tappings.

2. The tap changing is easy and safe considering the
Voltage level and also the requisite voltage level either
step up/down can be acquired
