what is the difference between Inverter and ups
Answer Posted / jackblade76
In inverter the main power is directly given to output but
it at the same time also charges the batteries of the
inverter, so when the main power fails it senses the
failure & then it provides the battery power which is
converted from DC to Ac as the output. Hence there is time
lag.
In UPS system the power is not given directly to the
equipments but it passes thru the UPS batteries so incase
of mains power failure the output is not effected till the
batteries are completely discharged.
In both the cases the main power is first converted to DC
for batteries & from batteries the o/p is again converted
to AC & fed to the connected system.
