10 green balls. You are allowed to move the balls between
the boxes so that There are two boxes, one containing 10 red
balls and the other containing when you choose a box at
random and a ball at random from the chosen box, the
probability of getting a red ball is maximized. This maximum
probability is

Answer Posted / srinivas

First to select a box the probability is ½.
Initially if I select a ball from the box containing red balls the probability is 1.
After shifting the balls the maximum balls shifted is 10.
Then the probability of selecting a red ball from 20 is ½
Therefore the answer is ½*1+1/2*1/2 =3/4

Ganesh and Shankar travel abroad and take more luggage than the airlines allow. They have to pay extra money for it. They carry 52 kgs together and pay $60 and $100 respectively. Now, if the same luggage was carried by only Ganesh it would cost him $340. If the airlines charges only at one rate for extra luggage what is the maximum luggage that a person can carry without paying extra?

Q.19 Alok and Bhanu play the following min-max game. Given the expression N=9+X+Y–Z where X, Y and Z are variables representing single digits (0 to 9), Alok would like to maximize N while Bhanu would like to minimize it. Towards this end, Alok chooses a single digit number and Bhanu substitutes this for a variable of her choice (X, Y or Z). Alok then chooses the next value and Bhanu, the variable to substitute the value. Finally Alok proposes the value for the remaining variable. Assuming both play to their optimal strategies, the value of N at the end of the game would be 27 18 20 Answer is: 20 can someone plzzzzzzzzz tell me how this answer is calculeted???
