Dust is removed from a carpet, if we strike it with a stick,

This is because when we beat the carpet with stick,we apply
pressure on the dust particles of the carpect.On applying
pressure the kinetic energy of particles increases.As a
result the particles starts moving and we see them coming
out of the carpet.
