A Domain Name is the name given by an administrator to a collection of networked computers that share a common directory. As part of the Domain Name System (DNS) naming structure, Domain Names consist of a sequence of name labels separated by periods. Every domain name has a suffix that indicates which top-level domain it belongs to. For example: .gov - Government Agencies, .edu - Educational Institutions, .org - Organizations (nonprofit), .com - Commercial Business and .net - Network Organizations etc.
